A project is the workspace for analytics from a website or mobile app. Its platform determines which collection instructions and analytics controls apply.

Find or switch projects

Open Projects from the user menu in the top-right corner, or use the app's project switcher. Choose the intended project before changing settings or interpreting data.

Your personal account and shared organization are separate from the project. Switching projects does not change your account.

Configure a project

Open the selected project's Project Settings. The available tabs depend on its platform and your access:

  • General: project details.
  • Data Collection: installation instructions for the selected platform.
  • Integrations: integrations available for that platform.
  • Excluded Traffic: collection exclusions, including IP addresses.

A website project uses a tracking snippet. A mobile project uses the relevant SDK; do not install a web snippet as a substitute for a native SDK.

Plan website and app boundaries

For a website spanning subdomains, review Cross-subdomain Tracking in Data Collection before installing the snippet. Use separate projects when you need separate configuration or independent analysis.

Do not assume that changing a project's website URL enables collection across unrelated domains. Confirm your intended domain/origin setup before expanding it. For an app containing web content, follow the relevant Mobile SDK guide rather than treating the app and website as interchangeable projects.
