CUX prioritises the privacy of your website's visitors by automatically masking sensitive information entered into form fields. However, personal data can also appear in other sections of your site, such as account profiles or confirmation pages following a transaction. To address this, CUX enables you to conceal specific content from its analytics scripts, ensuring such data remains private and unrecorded. CUX offers two straightforward methods for securing your users' privacy, both tested and recommended by us for their high security and minimal or none impact on website performance:

  1. Mock-up Mode. This feature allows you to completely anonymize user data in recordings and heatmaps by replacing all text on a website with asterisks. It is easy to enable, but it may affect website performance. For more details, see the information below.
  2. HTML Code Modification. With this option, you can manually select which HTML sections of your website should be excluded from recording by adding special attributes to elements containing sensitive information. This method is ideal for users comfortable working directly with code, as it offers pinpoint accuracy in data masking, but has no impact on a website performance.

Note that both of the options affect only the data that goes to our database - the masked content will not appear in visit recordings or heatmaps, fully preserving user privacy. But the masking operation is transparent to your visitors. They can use and see all the elements of your website freely.
